• This book is about a 16-year-old girl named Veralidane Sarrasri (Dane for short) who has Wild Magic and uses it to win a war between the worlds of Tortall and their enemies. But at one point she gets sucked up into the realms of the gods. With her also in the realms of the gods is her mentor, Mage Numair. The two must travel to the Dragonlands to leave the realms of the gods. Over the course they realize how much they love each other. After they return to Tortall, Numair asks Dane to marry him. She accepts.
