Code Talker: A Novel About the Navajo Marines of World War Two by Joseph Bruchac
The Code Talker by: Joseph Bruchac was a very descriptive and intriguing book about a young Navajo boy named Ned Begay who was a marine in World War II. He goes through many problems with racism, for example lot of people would call him a lazy little Indian boy. As soon as he became a Marine, he noticed that the racism did stop with his fellow Marine buddies, but other people still thought of him as a lazy little Indian boy. This book was boring at some parts because they talked a lot about weapons. As I was reading, I noticed a lot of grammar problems. Even though there are many issues with the grammar I still think that it is a lovely book that will leave you in shock!!!!!

Indigo's Star by Hilary McKay
Indigo Casson is a 12 year old boy in England. He has an artsy family, his mother, father and younger sister are all artists. In this book, Indigo has had the sickness mono for half of the school year, and when he finally gets well enough to go back to school, he almost gets beat up by bullies. Soon enough, he makes a friend from America and the fight themselves toward victory. Hilary McKay did a wonderful job of teaching the value of friendship. I think at some parts that the book was boring and it didn't grab the reader's attention. Even though some of the parts were boring to me, you might enjoy it, so check it out!
