The Sixty-Eight Rooms by Marianne Malone
Sixty eight rooms is about a girl named Ruthie and a boy named Jack. While searching at the local art museum they find a magical key that at first only Ruthie but soon they figure out that if they hold hands then shrink they both shrink. At first they search the European rooms and find a journal by a young girl that lives in a world inside the rooms. After that they are attacked by a cochroach and defeat it by making Ruthie big and then she squishes it and I shall not tell you the end so if you want to know then read the book.
