Will is an orphan who knows almost nothing about his parents. All he has ever been told was that his father died a hero. The king took him and several other orphans into his castle were they were to await the choosing. A time when these orphans were given the chance to choose how they would spend the rest of their lives. Will was denied his greatest wish of going into battle school to follow in his father’s foot steps. A ranger named Halt had attended the choosing that day and gave the king a note about Will. Unable to get his mind off the note Will slipped into the kings work room that night and attempted to read the note. The only reason he failed to read the note was because as he reach for it, halts hand suddenly grabbed him. Halt took Will to the king and the king told halt to allow will to read the note. The note said that halt would accept will as an apprentice, and so began Will’s adventures as a ranger.

the book was manly about a person who was a gangbanger his whole life almost and he was on deathrow and his books have gotten nobel prizes for peace. He was the former leader of the crips his partner got killed so then he became the full owner. This book mostly talks about how you should not go to prison because eve f you think it is a gladiator school where you can go there to become tougher, it is not true it is a place where you do not get to do anything but eat, sleep, and have a little bit of work out time in the yard. This book talk all about Stanley’Tookie’williams life and how he does not want you to follow in his foot steps.

Eagle Blue: A Team, a Tribe, and a High School Basketball Season in Arctic Alaska
by Michael D'Orso
- Reanna M. — 8th grade
- Team: Sullivan's Class
Eagle Blue is a great, one of the best books i read. The Fort Yukon Eagle boys’ have courage, strength, and show effort in the game they play, basketball. The kids in Fort Yukon have it hard at home, and they needed some place to go to get away, and so they joined basketball. They worked hard to be at the top, and they did. They ranked one in State, and are still determining if they are going to State in Anchorage. I didn’t finish the book, but i am almost done. The Fort Yukon Eagles are tough kids who went to practice in below zero weather, about -40 or lower. I learned there are many problems that are occuring on the Yukon Flats. Like, Doyon wants to drill on the Flats and would ruin Fort Yukon’s village, and trapping. Other than that, this book is so far a great book.
